ACCIDENT VS INTENTIONAL |

VEHICLE CRASHES THROUGH SHOPFRONT WINDOW -
HASTINGS POINT
Police
received a report at 8:28 am this morning (10 August
2015) about an accident at the corner shop in Tweed
Coast Road at Hastings Point. A vehicle reportedly
crashed through the big glass window and was trapped
with chest injuries and a bleeding arm. No-one
inside the shop was reported injured.
Numerous police made their way arriving at the
location arriving at the location a short time
later.
Police advised ambulance were on scene
and treating the patient when they arrived. The male
was still trapped. Rescue were still making their
way. Fire brigade were also making their way.
Police advised northbound traffic on Tweed Coast
Road was closed at 8:55 am. Fire brigade was
assisting with traffic control. The driver was still
trapped.
Police radio also advised police at
the location that they received another report that
the vehicle going through the shopfront window may
have been a deliberate act.
The driver was
reportedly released at 9:02 am and was still being
treated be ambulance. He was conveyed a short time
later. His condition is not known. |
