When to start your Flood Response Plan: When the Wilsons River at Lismore reaches 9.1m (approximately 1.5m before the CBD Levee overtops) and more heavy rain is predicted by the Bureau of Meteorology, you should record:
Wilsons River Lismore Current Height (WRLCH) Hourly Rate Of Rise (HROR) Metres To Overtopping (MTO) MTO is calculated by subtracting the current WRLCH from the height at which the CBD Levee overtops
(10.6m).
MTO = 10.6 - WRLCH
Hours To Over Topping (HTOT) HTOT is the calculation required to determine when to start your Flood Response Plan. It is calculated by dividing MTO by HROR.
MTO / HROR = HTOT
If the HTOT is greater than your estimated pack up time, you can delay starting your Flood Response Plan. If it is less than or equal to your estimated pack up time, you should start packing up immediately.
