The images and footage contained in this video relate to an incident at Wardell that occurred on Friday, 16 January 2015 involving an 18 month old baby boy involved in a drowning incident. It shows how emergency services worked very hard to get the baby to further care.

A number of highway patrol, general duties and specialist police vehicles got involved to clear a path from Wardell to Lismore Base Hospital. Transport by road was considered a better option than using the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter in this instance.

At the time of uploading, the condition of the baby boy was critical and he had been airlifted from Lismore Base Hospital and transported to Lady Cilento Hospital in South Brisbane by the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter where he remains in a critical condition.

Infant dies after rescued from pool – Pimlico 

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner following the death of a baby, after being rescued from a pool on Friday. 

About 12.30pm (Friday 16 January 2015), emergency services were called to a home on Pimlico Road, Pimlico, following reports of a baby being rescued from a backyard pool.

The 21-month-old boy was taken to Lismore Hospital, before being airlifted to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Last night (Saturday 17 January 2015); the boy died in hospital.

A post mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of the child’s death and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
