GOONELLABAH ROLL
OVER |
|
|
The images and video footage attached show a
single vehicle roll over crash which occurred earlier today, Sunday, 25
January 2015 on Brooker Drive at Goonellabah.
I have absolutely no
clue what the issue is but Goonellabah Fire & Rescue went to considerable
lengths to try to have me moved back out of camera view of the crash site
even asking police to move me away when I refused to comply with their
ridiculous and unnecessary demand.
Police declined to move me on as
I was already across the road well out of the way and there was clearly no
valid reason to do so. There were also barefoot neighbours in their pyjamas
filming on their phones right in the driveway where the crash happened who
were not being moved away.
The unusual behaviour from the firies
then continued as they tried to block every shot by forming a wall of firies
and standing in the way of my position until work started to remove the
vehicles. They even approached persons involved telling them that I would
plaster their faces all over the Internet while I was still capturing
images.
Similar incidents occurred with Goonellabah Fire & Rescue at
previous incidents around Goonellabah at locations involving a vehicle fire
in a driveway and a vehicle fire in a park. There have been absolutely no
issues with any other fire station or fire service and their head office has
even confirmed in writing that Fire & Rescue have no issue with persons
recording images at such scenes and I was more than welcome to do it.
Of course, if safety was really the issue, it would be a completely
different story and I would have to move out of harms way like everyone else
but this was clearly not the case here since I asked why others were not
being moved on.
Their behaviour was so unusual this morning that I
almost forgot why I was even there.
I guess I have just come across
more individuals who do not like Lismore Radio, me personally or just do not
want the public to know what is going on. Unfortunately, these guys will
result in considerably more hate coming my way - something I have become
extremely used to in the Lismore/Goonellabah area and have learned to live
with.
Bring it on I say!!!
