CONFRONT AGGRESSIVE DOG
Following a number of reports about a vicious dog
attacking people, police attended a business address in Conway
Street Lismore to find an aggressive dog in company with another
dog. Although staying at the location from time to time, the
aggressive dog did not belong to the proprietor.
A female was
reportedly bitten on the leg and had to go to hospital. A short time
later, another female was reportedly bitten and it is believed she
also had to attend hospital. Police believe the same dog may have
been involved with an earlier incident. A number of others were also
bailed up by the dog but not bitten.
Police considered
various options when trying to resolve the situation including the
use of pepper spray. Their goal appeared to be to restrain the dog
without hurting it. The proprietor arrived as police were
about to move on the vicious dog and he controlled the animals.
A council ranger was called and arrived a short time later
taking the vicious dog when he left. It is not known how they will
deal with the situation.
